I am a husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. I believe in sharing my talents and experiences by giving back to the community by giving my time to coaching, church and especially to the disability community. I truly believe that all men and women are created equally.
Legislators Who Take the Time to Experience the Impact of Issues
I think that it should be mandatory that anytime a Legislator (Local, State or National) is going to vote on an issue, they spend time with those that will be most affected by their decision.
Farmers Market Opens

Partners in PolicyMaking - Session 4
4 sessions down only 2 left. It seems like yesterday that I started the Partners in Policymaking class. We started by learning the history of the disability rights movement. This past session we had the opportunity to speak to a couple of legislators and lobbyists.
Developmental Disability Awareness
In 1987 President Reagan (http://www.reagan.utexas.edu/archives/speeches/1987/022687c.htm) declared March, Developmental Disability Awareness Month. While much has been achieved, we still have a long way to go. Many individuals with Developmental Disabilities still face discrimination today.
Community
For some strange reason, the topic of community came up at 3 different times, with 3 different groups of people on 3 different parts of community last week. While I often talk about the different communities that I belong to, I was really dumbfounded about the recurrent theme last week.
